The Pennington Players Goal
Our goal is to entertain and learn, and to have fun while doing it. Membership is open to anyone interested in working on a show - both on and off stage - but neither actors nor crew need to be members to participate. The production staffs are made up of energetic volunteers, and we are willing to train anyone interested in a position on the crew. The Players take special pride in the many young people who have learned and grown with us and then gone on to professional careers in the theater.
The Pennington Players have a strong commitment to their community, offering their services during the annual "Pennington Day" as the group that mans the Information Booth and handles tee shirt sales for the Pennington Day organizers. They also participate in the annual Memorial Day Parade. Additionally, for the past 15 years the Pennington Players has been awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior at Hopewell Valley High School who has participated in theater activities while in high school.

What The Pennington Players Do
The Pennington Players have been entertaining local audiences since 1951. In 1964, we became the first group ever to perform at the Washington Crossing State Park Open Air Theatre with our production of George Bernard Shaw's The Devil's Disciple. The following year, we performed our first musical, Plain and Fancy, which was also the first musical to appear at the OAT.
Over the years the Pennington Players have performed and worked in numerous venues, including the old Players Barn (an old school house in Hopewell Township); various churches; the Open Air Theatre at Washington Crossing State Park and Kelsey Theatre, on the campus of Mercer County Community College. No matter where performances were held, the Pennington Players have always strived to produce high quality productions. The Pennington Players are also committed to various genres having produced musical, dramas, comedies and children's theater. Over the years, we have also produced several New Jersey premieres.

Join The Pennington Players
The Players hold monthly Board meetings, typically on the second Tuesday of each month (although this may vary from time to time, depending upon show and rehearsal schedules). Every second month, the Board meeting is combined with a General meeting for all members of the Pennington Players; Board meetings are also open to general members or those interested in becoming members.
The Pennington Players are currently in search of a permanent location at which to hold their monthly meetings. Announcement of the meeting location will be included in our monthyly newsletter emailed at the beginning of each month.
